Ed Contreras has performed and taught percussion for over thirty years. He is an active musician in his community and teaches beginner and advanced percussion at Swallow Hill Music Association in Denver, Colorado.

Ed teaches a playing style straight from the heart that explores the spirituality of group dynamics and solo improvisation. He continually performs with several Colorado front range groups as well as leading his own world percussion group, Istari.
